Bronze Turkeys
Our Appledore Turkeys are reared on Romney Marshes in Essex by Andrew Wreathall whose grandfather started the farm in 1940. The farm is just 65 miles away from our Peckham shop and from Charlie Fredericks in Harlow, Essex.
Recipients of the Great Taste Award for both of their turkeys, they’re amazing producers who really care about the welfare and quality of their animals.
The turkeys are outside every day from ten weeks old. They live for between six and seven months and are game hung and hand plucked to maintain the best taste and meat quality for Christmas Day.
We’ve had a fair few turkeys over the years, but Appledores and Fredericks are really a cut above the rest, both in flavour and the exceptional care that’s taken in their rearing.

Everything Else
Stuffing
As per usual, we will have our sausage stuffing available in 500 gram packs, available in plain, sage and onion or cranberry. Please note the stuffing packs are just sausage and are gluten free.
Stuffing packs £7
Bacon and sausage
Our back and streaky bacon will be available smoked or plain. We strongly recommend ordering bacon in advance and it is available to order in 500gram packs. 500 grams is roughly equivalent to 6 rashers of back or 10/12 rashers of streaky.
Pigs in Blankets
Our pigs in blankets will be available in packs of eight, priced at £10.49 per pack. They are made with chipolatas rather than cocktail sausages so are a bit larger than average, and a must for any festive table.
Other meat
Alongside our traditional Christmas items, we do accept orders for other products. Legs of lamb, game birds (subject to availability), venison, free range chicken or cuts of pork can all be ordered in advance and collected for Christmas. We strongly recommend placing an order for these items as we keep low stock for many of these items during Christmas due to space restrictions.
With wild birds migrating, Bird Flu is present in some parts of the UK. We have visited our farms and all our poultry is currently safe and healthy but there is a chance that any poultry could become infected from wild birds. IF this is the case, we will endeavour to provide an alternative. With the presence of the Bird Flu we can’t, nor can anybody else in the UK, guarantee any poultry, but as always, we will do our best.
